PS5 Prism Collection brings transparent DualSense controllers and console covers in February 2027
Sony's Prism Collection adds transparent DualSense controllers and PS5 covers in three colours, launching February 4, 2027, with pre-orders from November 10.
Sony has revealed the Prism Collection, a line of transparent DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers that launches starting February 4, 2027. Pre-orders open on November 10, 2026 at 10am local time, directly from PlayStation (where available) and through participating retailers.
If you’ve been hanging out for a see-through controller, this is the one. The collection comes in three colours, each with a glossy finish:
- Flare Orange, a bright, bold option for your setup
- Emerald Green, a deep green with a silky exterior
- Graphite Gray, a cooler, more understated grey
What the design team says
According to Leo Cardoso from Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish design team, the goal was to revive the late-’90s transparent look in a way that suits the PS5. “We know how much our fans have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers,” he says.
His colleague Satoshi Aoyagi explains that the clear, high-gloss finish runs across the back of the controller, so you can see the tech inside, while a metallic middle cover ties the surfaces together. There’s a nice detail on the orange, too: Aoyagi says it takes on a rosy tint where the transparent material overlaps.
Prices and availability
The Prism Collection DualSense controllers will be sold globally at a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD / ¥12,480 (including tax) / €84.99 / £74.99.
The matching PS5 console covers are a bit more limited. They’ll be sold exclusively directly from PlayStation where that’s available, and in other regions in limited quantities through select retailers. Their recommended retail price is $74.99 USD / ¥9,980 (including tax) / €74.99 / £64.99.
Sony notes that actual retailer prices and availability may vary, and that the exact launch date and availability can differ by country or region.
