R.E.P.O. v0.5.1 is a small follow-up to the latest content update, and it’s mostly good news for gamepad players. Chat now works with a controller, and a long list of bugs has been squashed, including two Arena Race soft-locks.

New

  • Optional keybinds (chat, expressions and voice chat) can now be unbound.
  • Gamepad keybinds have been added for chat, push-to-talk and toggle mute.
  • Gamepad text input now works for chat, and there’s a new rotation sensitivity setting.

Changes and balancing

  • The enemy pony’s riding position has been adjusted, and the pony and its rider no longer collide.
  • Maximum aim sensitivity on gamepad is higher.
  • Some missing translations were added.
  • The Valuable Manor Coffin is slightly smaller.
  • The upgraded Cube of Knowledge is heavier in its final form, talks more often and attracts enemies from further away.

Fixes

Gameplay

  • Tumble Wings no longer deactivate when scraping the ground right after activation.
  • Clients can no longer grab breakable floors.
  • Equipped items no longer sometimes spawn in the truck after you leave the shop mid-extraction.
  • Melee Grab Lead is no longer accidentally enabled by default on mouse and keyboard.
  • Spectating no longer drops the camera through the floor, and it now switches to another player if the spectated one disconnects.
  • Arena Race had two soft-locks fixed, plus improved network prediction for smoother vehicle movement at high speeds.
  • Stuttering when grabbing objects, which affected some players, is fixed.

Menus and controls

  • Button selection no longer gets stuck after opening a Steam profile.
  • Hidden arrows in the server list can’t be selected with a gamepad any more.
  • WASD navigation no longer clashes with avatar rotation in the cosmetic and pause menus.
  • Buttons no longer go unresponsive after disconnecting with chat open.
  • Numpad keybinds show the correct numbers on the controls page.
  • Expression wheel portraits no longer inherit the player’s leaning and tilted pose.

Text, audio and visuals

  • Custom translations now apply in languages other than English, and localised upgrade counts line up properly.
  • You can hear your own TTS while muted or using push-to-talk.
  • The Halloween Truck’s furthest forest backdrop now moves with the truck, and sky, fog and lighting issues are fixed.
  • Various room issues in levels are fixed.
