Hozy, a cosy home restoration game, is coming to PS5 on 9 November. The developer describes it as a stress-free, tactile game where you tidy up, renovate and furnish rooms at your own pace, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog.

What you do

Each level is a space with its own atmosphere and story. You clean it up and renovate it, then furnish it from a curated set of furniture and décor, so you’re not wading through an endless catalogue.

There are no timers, no scores and no pressure. Tools range from a simple mop to a crowbar, and you can poke at the surroundings too: open a window, light a lamp, play a piano or hunt for secret messages in drawers.

Every surface and object has its own sound, and the music shifts as you progress. The developer recommends headphones or a home cinema system.

Built around the DualSense

The developer says its main aim was making the tools feel responsive, and the DualSense wireless controller is central to that.

  • Haptic feedback gives each action its own vibrations, such as a mop gliding across the floor or furniture being arranged.
  • Adaptive triggers let you feel the floorboards resist the crowbar before giving way.
  • The built-in speaker adds extra sounds from the tool you’re using.

After the story

The story has nine levels. Once you’ve completed it, a Game+ mode lets you revisit restored houses, switch between day and night and furnish rooms with different sets of furniture. Some rooms change beyond recognition.

There’s also a Sandbox mode with every item in the game available, so you can mix, match, duplicate and customise rooms however you like.

The developer also has plans for seasonal events and DLC, both free and paid.

Accessibility and Portal

Hozy is available in 11 languages. Settings include adjusting tool movement speed, inverting the camera and changing colour display options. It can also be played on PlayStation Portal.
