Keen Games has released Patch #1 for Enshrouded, also known as Patch 1.0.1.0 (version 1283531). It reworks some boss and enemy behaviour, rebalances wand and melee costs, adds a sprint toggle on keyboard and mouse, and squashes a long list of bugs, including several crashes.

Combat and enemies

  • Bosses now stay engaged longer after being attacked, even if you’re far away. Ranged fights against bosses like the Fell Monstrosity should no longer see them suddenly regain health while being shot.
  • The shielded Ancient Construct now has phases where its shield is on cooldown, and Ancient S.P.D.R. Constructs are harder to lure into spots where they stop moving or attacking.
  • The Fell Vinebloom’s area attack does less poison damage, and Scavenger proximity mines have a smaller explosion radius.
  • Elite flying critters give more XP, and Fell mini critters no longer block arrows as easily.
  • Totem spells and other summons can now target the Wispwyvern and its undead counterpart correctly.
  • Several cases of enemy levels not matching their region are fixed.

Skills and controls

  • Sprint can be set to toggle in the keyboard and mouse settings.
  • Whirlwind Crescendo costs less stamina, and the Wand Evasion Attack costs less mana.
  • The Aerial Wand Attack now costs 40 mana instead of stamina.
  • Wand attack speed can no longer be boosted by cancelling each shot with a block.
  • Lupa’s scalper daggers now enable the riposte kick ability.
  • With voice chat on open microphone, a keybinding can now mute and unmute the mic.

Loot, crafting and base building

  • Defeated enemies no longer sometimes need to be interacted with twice before looting. Fewer Fell enemies drop nothing, with another fix planned for the next update.
  • Extra food has been placed on the path and in the first cave to help avoid early starvation.
  • Crab cakes accept any type of milk, and big farm animal beds can be built from any wood type.
  • Fish no longer block other animals from breeding by occupying beds.
  • You can remove overgrowth from base buildings again.
  • The factories page gets better sorting, including by remaining production time and product.
  • Flying build mode now lets you destroy props with the pickaxe, and taking damage cancels it straight away.

Fixes and stability

  • Hairstyles that are quest rewards were accidentally unlocked in the previous update. That’s fixed, though characters already created with them keep their hair.
  • Skills and attacks no longer stop working after several hours of play.
  • Multiplayer is more stable when hosting worlds with very large player bases.
  • Several crashes are fixed, including one when closing the game.
  • Surround sound mixing is improved, with more work promised for the next patch.

PC-specific

  • Several causes of save data migration errors are fixed. If a save failed to migrate before, Keen Games suggests trying again.
  • The memory budget for migrating saves with too many player bases has increased.
  • New graphics settings were added for AMD cards, and an issue where [ESC] stopped working after using the AMD overlay is fixed.
  • Binding evade to [RMB]+[SPACE] no longer triggers a jump instead.
  • The 3D resolution scale slider now shows the correct value after a reset.
