THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games have announced that Titan Quest II arrives on Xbox Series X|S on January 19, 2027, and pre-orders are now open on Xbox, according to Xbox Wire.

Pre-order either edition and you get 96 hours of early access, which means you can jump in as early as January 15, 2027. The Cosmic Turtle Companion comes along as a pre-order bonus too.

Two editions to choose from

  • Standard Edition ($59.99 / €59.99): the game, the Cosmic Turtle Companion and 96 hours of early access. Owners of the original Titan Quest on Xbox also get a 10% loyalty discount.
  • Ultimate Edition ($79.99 / €79.99): everything in the Standard Edition, plus the original Titan Quest and its expansions Ragnarök and Atlantis. Those are playable immediately upon pre-order, so there’s a head start on the story before the sequel lands.

Build your own hybrid class

Titan Quest II is an action RPG set in a reimagined ancient Greece, where you set out to stop Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, from corrupting the Threads of Fate. The game entered Early Access on PC in August 2025, and the full release brings the story to its conclusion.

The big hook is the Mastery system. Instead of picking a fixed class, you choose two of six Masteries (Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge and Spirit) and combine them. Any pairing works, which the developers count as 15 distinct combinations.

Some examples from the announcement: pair Forge with Storm for blade traps crackling with lightning, or Spirit with Rogue to send the dead ahead while you strike from the shadows.

Skills can be reshaped with modifiers, and some change how a skill behaves entirely. Attribute points go into Might, Agility, Vigor and Knowledge, and you can respec at any time for a bit of gold. Any hero can use whatever weapons and gear they like, so full plate with a frost magic staff is fair game.

How it plays

Combat is described as deliberate rather than frantic. Enemies fight in factions and combine their abilities, so dodging and positioning count as much as raw damage. Health potions refill as you deal damage.

IGN Germany called the Early Access version “the ARPG for everyone who finds Diablo too hectic”. Rituals let you adjust the challenge to suit you.

Loot is built around your build, with Socket Charms, Relics and crafting to reroll, add or upgrade affixes. You can also team up with friends in cooperative multiplayer.

The world takes in sun-drenched coasts, the Arkadian Plains, the Wild Lands and Mount Olympus itself, with centaurs, gryphons and cyclopes along the way.
