Helldivers 2 has a new enemy strain to worry about. A PlayStation Blog post dated 3 November 2026 introduces the Noxious Terminids, along with bug caves that can now turn up in more biomes on the Galactic map.

Two new Noxious bugs

The Noxious Scavenger looks like a regular Scavenger but is noticeably quicker, which makes it tricky to keep in your sights. Every bite poisons you, and it can bite again almost straight away.

The good news is that it’s fragile. Weapons that favour volume over precision, such as shotguns, flamethrowers and grenades, should clear them out quickly.

The Noxious Spewer is the big one. It moves surprisingly fast and is behind the webs now draped over the battlefield.

  • Its Web Spit, used at medium range, takes away your ability to sprint if it hits.
  • Its bite is quick, has surprising reach and carries a stronger dose of venom than a Scavenger’s.
  • Its head has medium armour, but the web-filled abdomen has none.
  • Burst that abdomen and the Web Explosion snares every Helldiver and bug nearby, so mind your distance.

Poison and how to treat it

Every Noxious bite poisons you, and a new poison icon on your HUD tracks your condition.

  • Lightly poisoned: your vision hazes and the poison slowly eats into your health.
  • Heavily poisoned: damage over time increases, you can’t sprint and your vision hazes.

Stims cure the poison. The post suggests rationing them, since a poisoned squadmate may need one to stay in the fight.

Bug caves on more biomes

Bug caves are no longer limited to a handful of worlds. They now have a chance to appear across more biomes, from scorched deserts to frozen tundras, so any planet could have a hive beneath it.

Inside the tunnels, sightlines are short and corners are blind. The post recommends close-range firepower, sticking with your squad and keeping a stim spare for anyone who wanders ahead.
