THE FINALS update 12.2.0 buffs Medium weapons, adds Goat Expectations Set and a TGM26 cosplay showcase
THE FINALS update 12.2.0 buffs the AKM, Chimera-XB and FCAR for Mediums, refreshes the Store and announces a DreamHack Stockholm cosplay showcase.
Update 12.2.0 for THE FINALS on PC gives some of the Medium’s automatic and semi-auto weapons a lift, refreshes the Store and announces a cosplay showcase at The Grand Major 2026 (TGM26).
The Frights Galore Event is still running, too. Embark says you have a few more days to redeem any tickets you have left before it closes.
Balance changes
Embark says the tweaks have two goals: give Mediums a better chance in duels against the now 175 HP Lights, and add more viable tracking-aim options to the Medium’s weapon pool. The studio chose to target this match-up directly rather than nerf Light weapons, since Light still lags slightly among the archetypes across many skill tiers and modes.
The FCAR is moving back toward how it played earlier in the game’s life: slower firing, but punchier, which sets it further apart from the AKM.
- AKM: ammo count rises from 34 to 36.
- Chimera-XB: damage goes from 47 to 48, and rate of fire from 260 RPM to 280 RPM.
- FCAR: damage goes from 23 to 25, rate of fire drops from 530 RPM to 500 RPM, and ammo count falls from 25 to 20.
These are “tweakable” changes, which Embark can deploy without patching the game client. A further small round of balance changes is planned for 12.3 to support this set.
Store
The Goat Expectations Set is in the Store for anyone wanting to butt heads with the competition in style. The Dual Shockers Set has also arrived, aimed at Contestants feeling nostalgic.
TGM26 Cosplay Showcase
Embark is hosting a THE FINALS Cosplay Showcase at DreamHack Stockholm during The Grand Major 2026. Contestants can show off a costume on stage, with merch up for grabs for the winners.
