Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two adds Duel Mode, Super Slot and Sega console vehicles

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two is rolling out, with the PlayStation Blog’s post going up on 3 November 2026 US time. It brings more racers, vehicles and courses, plus a new mode and some gameplay changes.

What’s new in Year Two

• Duel Mode: a one-on-one format that differs from the standard 12-player races. The dev team says it focuses on your distance from your opponent and how you use items.
• Super Slot: a dedicated slot for one-slot Gadgets. Whatever Gadget sits there gets enhanced effects, which opens up more combinations.
• New Gadgets, along with new characters, vehicles and courses.

The developers say the aim was to keep players discovering new strategies, both from the race rules and from how they customise their setup.

Sega Consoles Pack

The Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition and Season Pass Two include the Sega Consoles Pack, which has three vehicles inspired by classic Sega hardware. The Dreamcast, Genesis and Sega Saturn all get a nod, and the team says it recreated the Dreamcast’s Visual Memory Unit (VMU) using original reference data.

The developers say they turned rounded shapes into fenders and nose sections, and angular lines into body panels and hoods. They also designed around the game’s front-and-rear combination mechanic. The Genesis Tower US needed considerable experimentation so it wouldn’t block characters or get in the way of play.

The pack first surfaced online as an April Fool’s joke, and the team confirms fans spotted that correctly.

Prices

Sony says prices are permanently reduced. On PlayStation Store, the listed prices are:
